AOII Symbols

Badge

The badge of Alpha Omicron Pi is composed of the three intitial letters of the three words of our Motto, superimposed one upon the next in order, which gives the Fraternity its name.

Color

Alpha Omicron Pi only has one color, cardinal.

Jewel

Alpha Omicron Pi has only one jewel, the ruby. The occasional use of pearls or diamonds in special badges has no significance or special meaning.

Flower

The 19th Century French rose, General Jacqueminot, a deep red rose, was chosen as the flower of Alpha Omicron Pi because its color is the symbol of the cnetral and essential virtue of the Fraternity. The Jacqueminot Rose is not available at most florists, so any deep red rose which is available may be used.

New Member Pin

The binding together of wheat into a sheaf in the new member pin represents individuals bound by the common bond of Alpha Omicron Pi.

Colony Member Pin

The colony member pin is given to the charter members of a colony as a symbol of the mutual promises made between the member and Alpha Omicron Pi. This rose pin is only used during this time, as a new AOII chapter is starting on a campus.

Magazine

To Dragma in Greek is translated as "the sheaf." The name was selected because it is a reminder of the common interest which united all AOIIs - it is record of accomplishments, or harvest, and it fittingly describes the purpose of such a publication - the uniting of members through.

Mascot

While not an official symbol, the Fraternity and our chapters consider the Panda to be AOII's mascot. The panda represents AOII most notably when pandas are donated by AOIIs to children dealing with arthritis pain.

Crest

AOII does not have a crest because we were founded on Greek, rather than medieval ideals. In its place we use the image of a rose.
