Character

Alpha Omicron Pi was founded on a promise to serve not only one another but the greater community as well. This commitment reflects a philosophy of friendship, concern, and usefulness in the world.

Commitment to
Dignity

Whether a member chooses to serve as a chapter officer, or represent AOII as a member of other campus or community organizations, there are numerous opportunities to develop leadership skills as a member of AOII.

Commitment to
Scholarship

AOII encourages all members to excel academically and has many programs designed to assist women in achieving their academic goals. Expectations are high but the support provided by scholarship programs, academic development officer resources, and fellow members makes success attainable.

Commitment to
College Loyalty

From collegiate years on through alumnae involvement, the reason AOIIs continue service is the joy of spending time together and sharing the insights learned from the relationships we build and sustain.

Letter from the President

Alpha Omicron Pi is a lifelong experience bound by ties of friendship with wonderful members that I have the honor to call my sisters. AOII offers opportunities for members to learn, lead, and grow not only as an active member in AOII, but to carry these goals into the collegiate community and beyond. In 1897, our founders Stella, Helen, Jessie, and Bess were unsatisfied with their collegiate experience during their time at Barnard College of Columbia University, and decided to create a fraternity based on their values: character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty. From this point forward, their innovations have given women around the country an opportunity to inspire ambition and learn the various ways to serve their community as a member of AOII. As a leader of Alpha Omicron Pi, I have had the opportunity to strengthen the bonds of our sisterhood as our Vice President of Chapter Development. Sisterhood led me to find my passion for leading others, to become someone my sisters could rely on to uphold our values. Through the support of my sisters, I continued my leadership in AOII as Chapter President. Through AOII, I am able to recognize my potential through leading others, creating a space in Kappa Rho for my sisters to learn and grow as mature women in society. As a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, it is important to recognize that you are never alone in the presence of your sisters. Sisters in AOII support one another during times of success, and times of trouble. Sisterhood brought me the opportunity to lead, but I recognize that I am never alone when leading my sisters. As members of Alpha Omicron Pi, we hold our values true and serve our community with the bonds of sisterhood guaranteed to last a lifetime. My hope is for sisters everywhere to find the opportunity to grow and prosper with the support of fellow sisters, just as I have found here in Alpha Omicron Pi.

Roses, Katlelyn Fikes
